I am a tutor who holds my students to high standards and gives 110% to be sure they reach them.I can empathize with anyone who struggles in school because I did, too. In fact, my high school guidance counselor expressed doubt about my ability to get accepted for college. Although her assessment stung me, I used it as motivation and rose from an average student to reach the top 10% of my graduation class. I went on to major in Biochemistry at Western Washington University. Because of that struggle and my ability to overcome and succeed, I know that every student can do the same. It just takes getting to know them, discussing their interests and goals, then customizing my teaching style to his or her needs. It is also very important to find ways to make the subject material relevant, which I do.I tutor Math, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry and offer test preparation for the SAT and MCAT. Through my work at Western Washington's tutoring center, I have learned to teach effectively and quickly. I also have experience tutoring students from low-income areas.When not studying or tutoring, I enjoying biking, swimming, watching movies, and writing.
